Should you have any questions relating to consent of your data, things like opting out of email notifications or updating your email address, they can be handled directly by either unsubscribing from our emails using the option at the bottom of the emails we have sent you. In running and maintain the site we may collect certain information about you such as; your IP address, web logs, Cookie data, browser signature, performance and monitoring data, traffic data, locational data, and other information passed via HTTP automatically by your browser.
By submitting a contact form on the website or by signing up to our services we may collect certain information about you such as; your full name, your company name, your email address, your phone number and additional information you voluntarily disclose to us.
Some of this data can be considered as Personal Data such as your name, IP address, email etc. With any and all Personal Data this information will be stored securely and only kept when necessary such as to provide a quote or perform a requested service for you. The Personal Data we collect will be held with us for as long as you use our services. Once annually all data that is not in use will be deleted from our systems along with all backups or archives unless we are required to keep it in accordance with any other applicable UK laws such as for tax or accounting reasons.
When you use our services we may also access your client information, such as name, contact details, payment details. All of this information will be stored on secure servers within the EU.
Any and all payment information supplied for your usage of our services will not be stored or processed by us. This data is processed securely and compliantly by our payment partners PayPal & Stripe.
We may gather information about your general internet use by using a cookie. Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the computer’s hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally, it is statistical data. This statistical data does not identify any personal details whatsoever.
You can adjust the settings on your computer to decline any cookies if you wish. This can easily be done by activating the reject cookies setting on your computer.
MJ Electrical Solutions use the information that we collect from you to provide our services to you. In addition to this we may use the information for one or more of the following purposes:
To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our products or services.
To provide information to you relating to other products that may be of interest to you. Such additional information will only be provided where you have consented to receive such information.
To inform you of any changes to our website, services.
We will never pass or sell your information to any third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances, we believe heavily in the integrity of our clients and only believe you should be contacted with relevant information.
We will pass your information to our CPS scheme should your works be notifiable
By providing your personal data to us, you agree to storing or processing. We do our upmost to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to make sure that your data is treated stored securely.
Unfortunately, the sending of information via the internet is not totally secure and on occasion such information can be intercepted. We cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically, however we take every reasonable step possible to ensure your data is safe. Be aware that sending such information is entirely at your own risk.
Your data can be stored in multiple ways, we store your data on our website to allow you to use and access your account and our services. We also store your data on an online secure cloud backup and a local backup to help re-establish all of our user accounts should we ever access a loss of data or data breach to recover any lost or potentially infected data.
We will only ever store data that is a maximum of 36 months old after certification to help maintain accurate record keeping. After the 36-month period it will be deleted or archived from our active records as we believe after this time data will no longer be relevant or required. Your data will be archived in circumstances where it is required to be retained under any other EU laws, when this does not apply the data will be deleted.
Your data will only ever be transferred via secure methods to ensure that your data is as safe as possible and never knowingly or negligently passed to any unwarranted third parties.
Your data will never be willingly passed to any individual/organisations/companies that do not comply with the GDPR in full.

MJ Electrical Solutions does not use any form of automated decision making with any data we hold or process.
In the event that we sell any or all of our business to the buyer where the data held will be considered as one of our assets.

You have the right to access any information that we hold relating to you. There is no charge for using this service and it can be submitted via email or telephone to the contact details noted on our website.
You also have the right to submit a complaint about how we have handled your data.
If you believe we have mishandled your data and would like to complain you can do so by contacting our DPO via email, firstname.lastname@example.org they will review your claim and provide you will all the information required. They will respond to your complaint within 2 business days.
If you do not want to complain to us or at any point during your complaint with us are unsatisfied with the answers provided you can complain directly to the ICO. This can be done by contacting them via their website https://ico.org.uk/concerns/
Standard Terms & Conditions
1. Installation Work:
a) All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671: 2018 and any amendments in force at the time of the works.
b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
c) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any works found required to bring the necessary parts of the existing installation up to standard will be at additional cost.
d) Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floors, etc. Where impracticable, cabling will be neatly surface run, either clipping direct or housed in trunking / conduit.
e) Where carpet or flooring coverings may require lifting to allow concealed installation work, no charge is made for this service, with best endeavours being made to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard. However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.
f) Where agreed before hand, chases to walls, etc will be re-filled to 2mm below plaster finish depth, however final finishing of skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded.
g) All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, using dustsheets and vacuum cleaning equipment as necessary.
h) The contract outlines the expected duration of the installation work.
i) Whilst undertaking the installation work at the property, the client is required to provide water and power free of charge
a) Clearing and / or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are not included.
b) Except where detailed, builders work (creating of holes larger than 50mm diameter, creating of support structures, etc) are not included, except as outlined in 1d, e and f above.
c) Re-decoration and final making good is excluded from quoted costs, unless specifically detailed as included.
d) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste and packaging is not included.
3. Extras and Variations:
a) All extras and variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement.
a) The costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with you.
b) Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between the hours of 08:00 hrs - 18:00 hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required outside these hours may attract out of hours premium rates.
c) Any additional work not covered in our quoted costs will attract additional time charge rate of £45.00 per hour plus materials cost.
d) Currently all figures quoted are not subject to VAT.
e) All figures quoted are valid for a date of 45days from the date of the estimate or quotation.
5. Deviations from Building Regulations and BS7671:
a) All work where applicable, will be executed fully in compliance with applicable Building Regulations and BS7671 in force at the time of the work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal Part P obligations to be met. Where a Client requires deviation from such regulations, a written instruction and record will be required.
6. Risk and Title of Goods and Property:
a) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.
b) All goods supplied shall remain property of MJ Electrical Solutions until all sums due have been paid in full.
c) The client is responsible for ensuring that the property is insured for the duration of the installation work.
a) MJ Electrical Solutions warrants its installation work to be defect free for a period of twelve months from invoice date. Such cover does not extend to goods not supplied by MJ Electrical Solutions, physical damage to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.
a) Unless agreed in writing payment terms are as follows for all works with out exception.
One-third of the agreed amount must be paid prior to the starting of any works the remaining balance must be paid on completion of the works completed to the satisfaction of MJ Electrical Solutions. Should works require a second visit e.g. First & second stage fix of a new installation a mid payment of one third shall be paid prior to the completion of the second stage fix.
9. Dispute Resolution:
a) In the event of a dispute, mediation is to be the preferred method of resolution.
